The Manager, Process & Change plays a critical role in analyzing current operational processes while supporting the organization's strategic execution of change. They are responsible for supporting the implementation of high-impact people, process, and system changes within the organization to enhance efficiency and productivity, ensuring smooth transitions, while minimizing disruption or resistance.
With focused commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences through quality standards, this role acts as a change leader for the organization and is responsible to deliver the NSLC's overall change management framework. A natural influencer, they excel in cross-functional collaboration to support organizational wide change. They will engage key stakeholders and leadership to develop change strategies to support the successful adoption of new initiatives applying Lean and agile methods to instill a continuous improvement mindset across the organization.
This opportunity is for approximately 12 months, located at our office in Halifax.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead the change management portfolio at an organizational level aligning change management with business goals.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of existing processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
- Develop and support action plan implementation to streamline processes, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization while maintaining high quality standards and customer service.
- Design and document new processes, procedures, and standard operating protocols, ensuring clarity and consistency across all operations.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented improvements, making adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement change management strategies and plans to support the successful adoption of organizational change initiatives.
- Assess the impact of change initiatives while collaborating with appropriate stakeholders to support the development of communication and training activities to facilitate smooth transitions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of change management activities with other business initiatives.
- Proven ability to lead a high performing process improvement & change management team
- Provide guidance and support to leaders and employees throughout the change process, ensuring their understanding and engagement.
- Identify and address resistance to change, collaborating closely with stakeholders to mitigate risks and overcome challenges.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of change management efforts, adjusting as necessary to ensure desired outcomes are achieved. Including measurement of benefits realization on high impact programs
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in change management & process improvement incorporating them into the NSLC's approach.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including senior leaders, store managers, department heads, and frontline staff to gather insights and feedback on existing processes.
- Utilize data analysis tools and techniques to collect and analyze performance metrics, customer feedback, and operational data to inform process improvement and change management initiatives.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Develop training and support to organization on new processes and procedures, ensuring seamless implementation and change adoption.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned; travel, primarily within the province as required.
As a qualified candidate, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience managing complex Organizational Change and Process Improvement activities
- 3-5 years managing a team with growing responsibilities.
- 3-5 years of experience creating process and technology-related change in a retail environment.
As the ideal candidate, you will also have:
- Advanced degree or professional certifications in one or more of the following areas - Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt, Change Management Designation, Project Management Certification, Quality Service Standards
- Bilingual in French and English
