What is the opportunity?
The Senior Manager, Sourcing, will play a pivotal role in supporting RBC's sourcing initiatives across key functional platforms, including HR, Group Risk Management, Chief Financial Office, Chief Legal and Administration Office, and Internal Audit. This role will support internal clients in achieving their business objectives and compliance obligations, while mitigating risks and maximizing value from RBC's supplier ecosystem. Key responsibilities include executing end-to-end sourcing events, formulating data-driven recommendations, negotiating contracts for diverse products and services (e.g., software, staff augmentation, consulting), collaborating across teams and ensuring data hygiene for the assigned portfolio.
What will you do?
- Proactively manage pipeline of sourcing activities, create plans to identify and recommend alternative sourcing strategies that maximize value for RBC.
- Lead and execute sourcing initiatives through competitive evaluation (e.g. RFx, quotes).
- Negotiate and draft agreements with inputs from multiple centers of governance.
- Advise business units on appliable RBC policies and best practices.
- Build effective and strong relationships with key stakeholders (including executive level) by understanding requirements and dynamics across stakeholder groups, decision makers and influencers.
- Secure stakeholder support for complex decisions, including the ones that may be unpopular, high-risk, or contentious.
- Identify, research, analyze and prioritize possible new sourcing opportunities and/or process changes through internal spend analysis, business knowledge, market research, and interactions with internal stakeholders.
- Provide coaching to junior or new team members.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Post-secondary education in related Purchasing field or Procurement Designation.
- 7+ years' experience in conducting sourcing activities, negotiating commercial and contractual terms.
- Experience running and facilitating RFx initiatives
- Experience in leading stakeholder interactions/relationships and influencing business decisions.
- Experience in leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills.

- Multi-category experience across professional services, management consulting, human resources, contingent workforce management, cloud software.
