Overview: Established in St. John's 2015, MST (Atlantic) Shipping Management ULC (formally Altera (Atlantic) Management ULC) was developed from a regional shipping company into one of the world's largest marine energy, transportation, storage, and production companies. MST (Atlantic) Shipping Management ULC nature of business is the provision of crude oil marine transportation services and the operation/management of crude oil shuttle tankers operating on the East Coast of Canada.

Position: Electrical Technical Officer
Rotation: Five weeks on/off
Status: Permanent
Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Electrical Technician Officer is responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all electrical machinery and associated controls on board the vessel. He/she is to perform all planned maintenance activities in accordance with the vessel programs as instructed by the Chief Engineer.
Mandatory Qualifications and Experience
- 3+ Years in rank
- Electro-technical Diploma or equivalent
- Transport Canada STCW Basic Safety
- Transport Canada STCW Ship Personnel with Designated Security Duties
- Unlimited Medical Health Certificate
- High Voltage Certificate preferred
- Training in Dynamic Positioning systems preferred
- Experience in working with Planned Maintenance System preferred
- Valid Passport
- Must pass Physical, Drug Screen, Alcohol Screening and Background /Pre-Employment Screening Checks.
Responsibilities:
- Treat safety and environmental compliance as a top priority.
- Report any unsafe acts or failure to comply with regulations and/or company procedures to the Master.
- Follow company policies to ensure a safe, pollution-free work environment.
- Maintain electrical power generation, distribution, switchgear, and consumers.
- Assist with maintenance of radio/GMDSS, navigation, DP, and electronic systems.
- Maintain distribution cables, UPS, batteries, and automation systems.
- Test and maintain emergency generator, switchboard, fire detection, and communications equipment.
- Maintain cranes, marine growth and impressed current systems, and control instrumentation.
- Manage electrical spares, calibration, and maintenance of electrical, pneumatic, and control equipment.
