LOCATION: St. John's, NL
Job Summary
The Training and Competency Coordinator has total ownership of the administration, organization and development of Company training and competency programs for all personnel in the region. The Training and Competency Coordinator will work in collaboration with QHSSE&T Manager and Operations department to identify training needs and map out development plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with management (onshore and offshore) and other functions to ensure that the Company's training and competency processes and requirements are completed in a timely manner.
- Collect education, training, competency and professional development documentation for all employees and enter a Learning Management System (LMS) and Competency tracking system.
- Verify training and competency certifications for all personnel prior to site mobilization.
- Responsible for the tracking of employee training and competency in multiple systems.
- Produce reports on training and competency statistics and create and manage regular critical certification expiry reports.
- Identify and communicate to management areas of concern where training and key performance indicators' (KPIs) are not being met.
- Research, plan, organize and conduct training and competency programs, seminars and conferences for clerical, supervisory, technical and lower-level management personnel.
- Assists with the creation of material for new training programs; reviews, evaluates and modifies existing and proposed programs; recommends appropriate changes.
- Assists with preparing and administering various training and competency programs.
- Prepares and distributes training aids such as instructional material, handouts, evaluation forms and visual aids; sets up audio-visual equipment and makes presentations when necessary.
- Organizes and contacts attendees and department representatives about training and competency program.
- Schedules the appropriate classroom and prepares the physical setup.
- Follow all Company policy and procedures.
- Provide training attendance records to Payroll for processing.
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of training and competency road maps.
- Ensure training and competency road maps are consistent with Company, Client and Regulatory Requirements.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a Training Coordinator role or similar position
- Experience within the Oil and Gas sector and Drilling Contractors are preferred
- Experience with a Learning Management System (LMS)
- Must have good computer skills to include all Microsoft Office products with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Must have work knowledge and skill with SharePoint
- Must have ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness
- Must be a detail oriented, self-starter and able to work with little supervision while maintaining quality
- Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with staff, management, customers, union and vendors
- Must possess sound analytical and reasoning skills and can follow directions
