Service New Brunswick is seeking an individual to join the Financial Services Branch as a Senior Financial Analyst in New Brunswick.

As a member of the Financial Services team, you will be the primary contact for assigned divisions in the organization. Your role will be to provide top financial support, while working within a collaborative team-based environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating the annual budget and quarterly forecasting processes by collaborating with budget owners within assigned divisions
  • Monitoring forecasts, analyzing variances, and recommending actions to maintain budgetary controls
  • Maintaining up-to-date salary and benefits data for use in budget and forecast preparation
  • Building relationships and establishing trust with the assigned divisions to provide high client service and financial support
  • Participating as member of the financial analyst team by contributing to team problem solving, information sharing, improving processes, and learning
  • Performing reconciliations of key transactions and systems to monitor internal processes and meet audit requirements
  • Other projects and responsibilities as assigned

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: A university degree in Business Administration or a relevant discipline with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience.

Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered, or the required years of experience may be increased.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate:

  • Enrollment in the CPA Program or a CPA designation
  • Experience in project management and/or project accounting
  • Experience with advanced Excel functions
  • Experience with data analytics

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Occasional travel throughout the province may be required.

  • Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.
