The Opportunity
Responsible for managing teams of employees (Security Officers, Supervisors, I&C Officers and I&C Technical Officers) which involves both the engagement and development of these employees. Part of the core responsibilities include resourcing and staffing, recruitment, ability to adapt quickly and have both departments able to as well, scheduling hours, performance management.
Formulating strategy, improving performance, protection of assets, guests, and employees, access control, and ensuring compliance. Mentoring team members, finding ways to increase quality of customer service but maintaining a secure environment and implementing best practices across all levels.
Responsible for managing department costs/expenditures. Developing company policies that promote a positive company culture. Managing relationships amongst direct reports. Reporting important matters to Operations Manager and GM. Making decisions on trespass lengths. Leading internal investigations. Promoting healthy play and keeping all Security and I&C knowledgeable in the matter. Ensuring Compliance with the PEI Gaming Regulations.
Key Responsibilites:
- Model the desired behaviors of the business, while creating and maintaining a highly engaged and professional team.
- Responsible for leading, performance management and coaching both Security & Compliance Teams.
- The day-to-day administrative Management duties, such as enforcement of internal policies and procedures, performance management, training, scheduling, ADP entries/expectations, recruitment, shift report review and ensuring the team is up to date on business communications.
- Work with the business on collaboration opportunities.
- Ensure the Break in Play and Return to Play program and process is executed and managed correctly, this is done through regular training of Security.
- Maintaining Compliance with PEI Gaming Regs and providing Risk Assurance.
- Internal Controls/Policy & Procedure Enforcement.
- Leading Red Shores with set up, planning and securing the guest, employees, assets, and property.
- Ability to define operational/function and/or technology processes and/or direct the work performed by others. Demonstrate high accountability for the performance results within area of responsibility.
- Maintain close liaison with Site leadership and outside stakeholders (e.g. RCMP, Municipal policy authorities etc.)
- Continuous improvement efforts, including the implementation of industry leading surveillance practices.
- Business Continuity Planning (Pro-actively creates Continuity plans and deploys updates as business evolves/changes to meet the current position).
- Collaboration with other departments to improve awareness of surveillance practices within the different areas of business to better safeguard Red Shores assets and people.
- Responsible to ensure cameras and access systems are functioning properly.
- Knowledge of Fintrac (AML).
- Owner of Red Shores Break in Play Program at Red Shores locations.
- Issuing trespasses to guests as per Red Shores Trespass Matrix (reporting incidents of high risk to legal and AL executive team).
- Chair of the Health & Safety Committee (H&S has been identified as and considered to be one of Atlantic Lottery's highest risks.
- Ensuring Provincial Legislation is followed.
- Monitor gaming operations, cash transactions and perform investigations to protect the property assets, employees and patrons of Red Shores Charlottetown and Red Shores Summerside.
- Completing risk assessments with recommendations.
- Leading internal investigations as the lead investigator.
- Directing I&C officer's day-to-day tasks and special investigation activities.
- Monitoring FTEs to remain within budget.
- Assisting Operations Manager with budget needs.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Require a University Degree or comparable working experience in related fields with strength in gaming compliance, surveillance, security, or related fields.
- Managerial or leadership experience in the related field of 3-5 years. Previous experience in the security, Surveillance, or compliance field is required.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, leadership, interpersonal, analytical, communication, investigative, risk analysis and managerial skills.
- Working knowledge of surveillance systems and access control systems. Must have previous gaming experience or knowledge of the gaming industry.
- High aptitude for problem solving and decision making.
- Competence in maintaining compliance with regulations.

- Dealing with high level and confidential files.
