Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick - 3 Jobs
New Brunswick
Job Details:
Benefits:
Are you a strategic communicator, creative storyteller, and proactive leader who thrives in a dynamic nonprofit environment? The Heart & Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick (HSFNB) is seeking a Director, Marketing & Communications to shape our brand, amplify our mission, and lead a versatile communications team committed to improving the heart and brain health of New Brunswickers.
This is not a role for someone who wants every day to look the same. At HSFNB, you may find yourself leading a major public-facing event one day and rolling up your sleeves for technical design work or hands-on content creation the next. We are looking for a director who is equally comfortable thinking strategically and executing creatively - someone who brings ideas forward, seeks opportunities rather than waits for them, and takes ownership of their portfolio as part of our senior leadership team.
As the leader of a small but mighty department of two staff members, you will mentor, guide, and inspire your team while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Your ability to think ahead, anticipate needs, and bring fresh ideas to the departments you support will be a major driver of our success.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
• Lead a department of two communications and marketing professionals, providing mentorship, direction, and opportunities for growth.
• Serve as a member of the senior leadership team, contributing to organization-wide strategy, decision-making, and planning.
• Bring forward proactive, creative ideas and identify communications opportunities across all departments.
Communications & Brand Management
• Lead media relations, including media kits, releases, pitches, interviews, and spokesperson preparation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with provincial media to strengthen HSFNB's visibility.
• Manage all communications for HSFNB campaigns, events, programs, and organizational initiatives.
• Ensure all communications are strategic, on-brand, and aligned with organizational priorities.
Digital & Technical Execution
• Oversee the HSFNB website, social media channels, and digital content strategy.
• Support design needs for events, campaigns, and internal teams (experience with Adobe Creative Suite, videography and web development is essential).
• Coordinate external designers, videographers, or agencies when required.
Collaboration & Storytelling
• Work cross-departmentally to understand organizational needs and turn them into compelling stories, materials, and campaigns.
• Support provincial communications initiatives and identify opportunities to elevate HSFNB's profile provincially.
• Develop thoughtful, creative communications strategies that inspire community engagement and philanthropy.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related area.
• Demonstrated experience in media relations and multi-stakeholder communications.
• Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience managing social media platforms (Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram).
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and with a high level of initiative.
• Leadership experience and a demonstrated ability to mentor team members.
• Valid driver's license.
