We are currently seeking a Business Development Advisor to join our Commercial team based in the Firm's Halifax, Nova Scotia office.

Type of Position: Full-Time, Permanent

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Director, Commercial Operations, the Business Development Advisor plays a key role in advancing Stewart McKelvey's growth initiatives, in alignment with the Firm's Strategic Plan.

The Firm's Business Development Advisor is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the Firm's industry-focused groups by establishing meeting cadences, developing agendas, driving strategic business development plans, and ensuring consistent follow-up to advance key priorities.

The Business Development Advisor will collaborate closely with lawyers across the firm to develop, implement, and monitor tailored business development strategies aligned with practice, industry, and firm-wide objectives.

Through in-depth market and client research, the Business Development Advisor will track industry & competitive trends and translate insights into actionable opportunities that strengthen client engagement and generate new business.

Additionally, The Business Development Advisor will support targeted outreach initiatives, monitor client and prospect engagement through the Firm's CRM system, analyze reports on results to evaluate current effectiveness, and to guide future efforts.

The Business Development Advisor is also responsible for contributing to the Firm's pricing and rate analysis by assisting with the development of strategies that balance market dynamics, client expectations and profitability, while refining metrics and reporting, to measure the impact of business development, client, and pricing initiatives.

Finally, The Business Development Advisor will assist in preparing presentations, proposals, and client communications to support the Firm's strategic growth objectives.

The successful candidate will hold a degree in Business Administration, an MBA, or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated experience. They will also bring at least five years of experience in a business development or marketing role, preferably within a professional services environment.
