SCHEDULE: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, On Call, Rotation, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: French essential and spoken English

JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent performs primarily administrative work to support the administration by organizing, directing, and supervising activities within the Histology department. The work also involves directly contributing to activities such as optimizing laboratory services, harmonizing processes and deploying standardized practices, and developing network-wide policies and procedures for the Histology department.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of medical laboratory technology, genetics technology or Cytology;
  • Licensed and in good standing with the New Brunswick Society of Medical Laboratory Technology and a master's degree (or equivalent) in the discipline;
  • Must have a minimum of six (6) years related experience and have demonstrated supervisory abilities;
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite and other software commonly used within the Network;
  • Interest in pursuing personal and professional development as necessary to meet the requirements of the position;
  • Ability to word closely with pathologists and a multidisciplinary team;
  • Communication, interpersonal, and teaching skills;
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills;
  • Planning and organizational skills;
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills;
  • Proven ability to adapt to change;
  • Initiative and sound judgment;
  • Analytical thinking skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
