Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC's Technology and Operations division. The Audit IT team leads transformative programs to redefine IA through innovative technology. In this role you will be responsible for strategically planning and managing successful implementations for the audit initiatives. The role will coordinate, develop, lead, communicate and execute activities to ensure objectives are accomplished on time and on budget.
What Will You Do?
Provide delivery leadership for medium to large projects/initiatives
Facilitate Agile initiatives from initiation through release, providing oversight to ensure alignment with RBC Agile/Scrum practices, including but not limited to, project kick-off, sprint, release and deployment planning
Accountable alongside the scrum team for the achievement of release objectives and results that meet LOB stakeholders' needs and expectations
Track and manage risks and financials for the team
Facilitate discussion leading to collective decision-making, goal setting and conflict resolution within the team
Remove impediments to delivery success through the proactive management of external dependencies and simple team problem-solving, considering options and selecting solutions; escalate issues through business and/or IT channels where necessary
Accountable for creating and maintaining the appropriate vehicles for open communication within the scrum team (e.g. tracker boards) to create a trusting and safe team environment
Manage team performance to promote joint accountability for results and solve productivity issues
Facilitating and engaging in business analysis, user experience and technical conversations across platforms
Navigating and identifying shared IT services required by the team in the delivery of its objectives
What Do You Need To Succeed?
Must have:
Experience with agile practices including Scrum/Kanban, Agile ceremonies (standups, backlog refinement, team demos)
Experience working with vendors that provide resources using various models (staff augmentation, fixed price contracts)
Clear understanding of the various activities within a delivery project
Experience scheduling activities across all delivery teams to deliver a common capability
Strong communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally to articulate, measure and solve issues
Nice-to-have:
Knowledge of Scaled Agile practices
Knowledge of collaboration tools – JIRA and Confluence
Experience with Planview and/or RBC MIS (Management Information System)
Basic financial experience
1 year of experience as a Scrum Master
3+ years of experience in software development and/or project management and/or business (system) analysis or other relevant professional experience
