Creating a Sense of Home: We are home to 108 residents. At Windsor Elms Village there are three distinct neighbourhoods. Each neighbourhood has four houses of nine residents. With such a diverse group of residents, you will find each house has its own character. At WEV, we strive to create flexibility that mirrors life in the communities and homes our residents have known.

Cook: We are seeking a temporary Part Time Cook to work in our Home. Additional shifts and cross training in other roles within the kitchen and Home may be available.

About the Role The Cook is responsible for taking a leading role in coordinating the activities of the Foodservice Department and for the preparation and handling of food according to the resident and cafe menus, recipe specifications, resident preferences and diets/textures, kitchen and catering requests. The Cook is responsible to ensure attractive, appetizing, nutritious and safe meals are prepared. The Cook is responsible to ensure food safety standards are met at all times and staff safety is of paramount importance.

Strengths of the successful applicant must include being a team player with a positive attitude who adheres to food safety and infection control standards, follows safe cash handling procedures, and understands the critical nature of adhering to the residents' diets & textures while supporting their preferences.

Requirements / Qualifications:

• Cook Certification required

· Reliable and dependable

· Foodservice experience an asset

· Proven work ethic

· Demonstrates leadership abilities

· Excellent attendance record

· Friendly, professional and demonstrates skills in customer service

· Demonstrates an interest in improving knowledge by attending available educational opportunities
