Business Banking Engineering is seeking a Senior Manager to lead and deliver solutions that power critical Business Banking capabilities. This role focuses on managing a modern and legacy application suite. Lead modernization of legacy capabilities with API-first, cloud-native, loosely coupled services and experiences, integrating internal and third?party platforms.

Reporting to the Director, Business Banking Domain, you will partner with business stakeholders and cross?functional teams across engineering, product, security, data, and infrastructure to deliver production?ready outcomes aligned to enterprise standards for security, resiliency, scalability, availability, and regulatory compliance.

This is a hands-on leadership role: you are expected to understand the business application and its dependent systems, and to lead with strong engineering judgment, crisp prioritization, and disciplined execution.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

• Drive end-to-end delivery across multiple workstreams, ensuring clarity on scope, dependencies, milestones, and success measures.
• Establish a high?ownership culture with strong engineering fundamentals: clear decision?making, pragmatic trade-offs, and accountable execution.
• Actively remove blockers, manage cross-team dependencies, and keep delivery aligned to roadmap and business priorities.
• Build durable partnerships with business and technology leaders; translate priorities into executable plans.
• Communicate progress, risks, and trade?offs clearly to senior stakeholders; align teams through crisp narratives and data.
• Track, monitor, and drive closure of open items across TRAs, IT RCSAs, audits, compliance reviews, self?identified issues, and other relevant risk reviews.
• Ensure solutions are production-ready: reliability, observability, incident readiness, and operational hygiene appropriate for a Tier?1 bank.
• Champion an innovation mindset: continuously simplify, automate, and improve engineering and delivery workflows.
• Apply AI responsibly to improve speed and quality (e.g., using AI assistants for ideation, documentation, backlog refinement, test acceleration, and engineering productivity), while ensuring outputs are reviewed, validated, and compliant.
• Drive adoption of practical AI/automation use cases that reduce cycle time and rework (e.g., improving how teams identify defects earlier, generate test ideas, and standardize engineering artifacts).
• Promote a learning culture: experimentation with guardrails, measurable outcomes, and knowledge-sharing across the team.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Customer-first mindset with strong risk awareness; bias for clarity, quality, and execution.
• A builder's mindset: curious, improvement-driven, and comfortable operating in ambiguity while bringing structure to execution.
• 5–10+ years of Business Banking management and/or technology experience, including 5+ years leading large cross?functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Strong experience with modern technology environments (public/private cloud such as GCP, Azure), modern architecture patterns (e.g., microservices), and how systems integrate across platforms.
• Excellent relationship management, influencing, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively across all levels and balance competing needs.
• Strong communication and stakeholder skills; able to influence delivery teams and partners through clarity and practical trade?offs.
• Proven ability to develop and execute strategies and deliver strong results in both short- and long-term horizons.
• Experience modernizing platforms or incrementally replacing legacy capabilities with API-first services and cloud-native approaches.( Preferred )
• Experience with process improvement using AI and/or automation. .( Preferred )
• Familiarity with Java, Node.js, and/or Pega Platform (asset). .( Preferred )
