This position leads the Actuarial and Product Development team. It is responsible for driving advanced actuarial practices, shaping the product vision, and influencing strategic decisions, while developing a high‑performing team. This is a position of influence, innovation, and high organizational visibility.
The position defines the product strategy and leads market intelligence, research and development, as well as the evolution of actuarial practices, while ensuring the profitability and competitiveness of the portfolio.
As a cross‑functional business partner, the position works closely with key organizational functions and develops high‑value reinsurance partnerships. The position requires strong, engaging leadership, a high level of influence, and a strategic vision spanning individual insurance, annuities, and investment products.
- Ensure the optimal development of pricing, profitability, and experience‑monitoring models for individual insurance and retirement savings, with rigor and in compliance with actuarial standards
- Define and implement the product strategy to ensure portfolio profitability and the competitiveness of the market offering
- Bring the product design vision to life, supported by proactive monitoring of market trends and competitors to identify opportunities
- Develop and manage high‑value reinsurance partnerships
- Mobilize, coach, and grow a multidisciplinary team by fostering a culture of achievement, innovation, performance, and continuous improvement
- Act as a trusted, cross‑functional business partner to multiple teams
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science and professional designation (FSA, FCIA)
- More than 10 years of experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English
- Knowledge of AXIS modeling (required) and predictive analytics or other advanced analytics techniques (an asset)
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills
- Deep understanding of business dynamics in the life and health insurance industry
- Ability to thrive in a transforming environment that may be ambiguous or uncertain
- Management experience
