The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual that is comfortable working with both technical and non-technical teams, to join the Early Childhood Digital Business Transformation Branch as a Business Systems Support Lead.

The Early Childhood Development Division is responsible for bridging early childhood services across public, community, and private sectors with school services to create a seamless continuum of learning from birth through to to 21 years old. Our mission is to develop programs that nurture engaged, ethical citizens, keeping them well equipped for balanced lives and lifelong learning.

The Business Systems Support Lead will ensure that new or enhanced systems are well understood, thoroughly tested, and successfully adopted by end users, supporting the department's vision of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

What will you do:
Reporting to the Director of Early Childhood Digital Business Transformation, the Business Systems Support Lead will play a critical role in ensuring that business systems meet operational needs and are fully tested before deployment. The position leads User Acceptance Testing (UAT), develops testing strategies, documents system processes, analyzes issues, and will be serving as the vital link between operational support services, business stakeholders, the SNB technical team, you'll drive seamless digital transformation.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Leading and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Conducting functional, regression, and integration testing to ensure system quality and readiness.
  • Managing test cases and defect tracking using DevOps tools.
  • Analyzing, identifying, documenting and reporting system issues.
  • Developing and maintaining system documentation, including process maps, SOPs, user guides, and training materials.
  • Supporting users during onboarding, implementation, and system updates.
  • Acting as a communication bridge between business stakeholders and the Project team, sharing requirements, risks, and testing outcomes.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in processes and systems.

Required Competencies:
Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in business processes, leading testing methodologies (UAT, functional/regression) using tools such as DevOps or Jira; OR
  • Diploma in Business, IT, Computer Science, or a related field, with a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in comparable roles involving technology and business processes.

Additional Competencies and Skills

  • Strong documentation expertise, including the development of SOPs, user guides, and training materials.
  • Experience in facilitation and delivering presentations.
  • Experience leading UAT and developing test plans and test cases.
  • Experience in creating process maps and workflow diagrams.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for system issues.
  • Knowledge of the Early Learning and Child Care sector; government experience considered an asset.
  • Experience in change management and user training.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) considered an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Wage:
Pay Band 5 - $67,600 - $94,406 annually.
Work environment:

  • Office location: Place 2000, remote work within New Brunswick is possible.
  • Management non-unionized position
  • Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15 - 4:30
  • Evening and Saturday availability sometimes required
  • Your Team: A team of up to 20 employees
