Job description:Our Legal and Regulatory team is seeking an experienced and talented lawyer to join our litigation team, specializing in class actions. You will work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, working closely with colleagues across Canada. You will be required to manage a large volume of complex cases and provide strategic legal advice to various business units of Bell and its subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities- Managing and overseeing a diverse portfolio of complex cases, including class actions, commercial litigation and arbitration, and disputes involving other telecommunications companies (potentially including issues related to Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) regulations).
- Collaborating closely with external firms to ensure effective and strategic case management
- Analyzing and assessing the legal risks associated with litigation and proposing pragmatic and innovative solutions.
- Providing proactive and strategic legal advice to internal teams on a variety of issues, including consumer law, contract law, real estate law, civil liability (personal injury, property damage), defamation and privacy
- Drafting and revising legal documents, such as briefs and procedures
- Actively participating in settlement negotiations, when necessary
- Mastering the management of electronic and documentary evidence (eDiscovery)
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of litigation experience, ideally in private practice (with experience in class actions) or in-house.
- Court advocacy experience
- Strong analytical skills and excellent ability to assess legal risks
- Ability to effectively manage multiple files simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Strong team spirit and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Motivated, creative, agile, and results-oriented
- Leadership skills and ability to build strong relationships
- Ability to manage difficult situations with professionalism, confidence and proactivity
- Candidates must be bilingual in French and English
