JOB SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for all accounts payable and receivable functions, purchasing functions as well as general duties involved in the operation of the administrative office and the community policing unit.
Duties shall include principally those related to that of assistant to the Financial Management and Budgeting Specialist, and the maintenance of all Codiac Administration filing systems.
The incumbent of this position will report directly to the Financial Management and Budgeting Specialist position and provides support to all sections of the Codiac Regional RCMP.
EDUCATION:
- A two (2)-year College Diploma in Business Administration OR equivalent two (2)-year Diploma that includes significant accounting courses or a four (4)-year Degree in another discipline with relative business related courses.
- Professional purchasing designation or training are considered assets.
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in an office environment performing similar or related duties.
LANGUAGE:
- Ability to communicate effectively in both language (oral; English and French) as a requirement. Must meet Intermediate (2+) Level as per the Province of NB Linguistic Standards in both languages as a minimum requirement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- A good understanding of Accounts Payable/Purchasing functions.
- The ability to learn the Codiac Regional RCMP computer systems. (TEAM, PROS, Infoweb, ROSS, etc).
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Exposure to a computerized financial system is a requirement.
- Ability to type a minimum speed of forty (40) w.p.m.
CONDITION OF WORK:
- Expert level certification in Microsoft Excel or achieve this certification within the first 6-months of employment.
- It is a condition of employment that the incumbent must be of the highest integrity and character and will be subjected to RCMP security screening. This involves background and character investigation of successful applicants and their immediate families. This is required prior to the necessary level of security clearance being granted for this position. Must maintain necessary RCMP security clearance requirements for this position throughout the duration of employment. Similarly, the incumbent's use of all police information will be in accordance with RCMP policy, regulations and directives. Since the work is of a confidential nature, the incumbent must be prepared to undertake an Oath of Affirmation of Secrecy.
