Skills Canada - Nova Scotia (SCNS), in collaboration with the Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency (NSAA), is seeking a Production Project Coordinator to lead the development of the "This is My Trade" video series highlighting careers in the skilled trades. This project will be managed by SCNS in partnership with the NSAA. The Coordinator will report to both entities for the duration of the project, and all final deliverables will be approved by NSAA.

About the Role

The Production Project Coordinator will play a key role in shaping engaging, informative video content that showcases real trades professionals and their work environments. You will collaborate with the NSAA and oversee a production team to plan, film, and deliver a series of high?quality short videos. This role combines project management, production oversight, research, and marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with NSAA to understand project goals, messaging priorities, and desired outcomes.
  • Lead and manage a production team throughout all stages of the video creation process.
  • Research the skilled trades selected for inclusion, ensuring accuracy and strong storytelling.
  • Plan and coordinate video shoots, including scheduling, logistics, permissions, safety and on?site support.
  • Prepare background information documents and other materials needed for filming.
  • Develop a marketing plan to support the promotion and distribution of the final video series.
  • Maintain clear communication and provide regular updates to both SCNS and NSAA.
  • Adapt to changing project directions or additional responsibilities as assigned by the SCNS Executive Director.

Qualifications

  • Experience in video production coordination, project management, or related fields.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple timelines and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working in various workplace environments, including industrial or trade settings.
  • Knowledge of-or interest in learning about-the skilled trades sector.

Successful interview candidates will be subject to Child Abuse Registry, and Criminal Records checks.
