We are recruiting for a full-time Community Planner I to join the team.
The Community Planner I is responsible for processing development applications, preparing policies, reports, background documentation and research in support of planning and development applications within the fast-growing community of Municipality of East Hants.
What you can offer:
- You have a Bachelor's Degree in Planning, or a related field.
- Ideally a minimum of two (2) years experience, preferably in Municipal Government.
- Strong interpersonal, technical, and public relation skills, as well as advanced written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to interpret planning and development legislation and regulations within the Municipal Government Act.
- Strong computer software skills and working knowledge of the MS Office suite. Experience with mapping and utilizing GIS and graphics package, preferred.
- Ability to work in high pressure, deadline-oriented environment and to manage multiple projects and tasks efficiently.
- Eligibility to become a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners.

Annual Salary: $74,004 - $92,504
