The Senior Logistics Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing logistics and supply chain operations tosupport the efficient and timely delivery of goods and services in both domestic and/or international contexts. This role coordinates and/or delivers many aspects of the supply chain including but not limited to, procurement requirements, vendorrelationships, transportation, storage, and/or distribution activities while ensuring compliance with organizational policies andregulatory standards. Working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and partners, the Senior Officer contributes to readiness,response, and/or recovery efforts by optimizing logistics processes, strengthening systems, providing technical expertise ordelivering logistics services to internal clients. The Senior Officer also supports surge capacity during emergencies, helping toensure operational excellence and the effective delivery of humanitarian assistance.
In this role, you will :
- Support the development and implementation of the cost-efficient stock strategies and supply chain systems to ensure the
timely arrival of critical resources to support the delivery of CRC Humanitarian Services. - Coordinate the movement of international and domestic stock and equipment, including logistics services such as freight
forwarding, customs clearance, and inter-agency coordination, inventory management, warehouse operations, distribution
and/or fleet oversight as required. - In collaboration with internal SCM SMEs, execute and/or coordinate procurement activities, including sourcing, tendering,
contracting, vendor negotiations, and performance monitoring, ensuring quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and value formoney. - Support the planning, development, and implementation of logistics strategies, procedures, and systems that strengthen supplychain efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance across domestic and international operations.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, service providers, partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and
effective delivery of logistics and supply chain services. - Monitor and maintain accurate logistics, procurement, and inventory records, ensuring audit compliance, safety standards, andreporting requirements are met.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to staff, volunteers, and partners, supporting surge capacity and
operational excellence during readiness, response and/or recovery emergency phases. - Identify and implement process improvements, tools, and innovations to enhance logistics operations, eliminate bottlenecks,and drive continuous improvement.
- Promote compliance with organizational policies, procurement standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance frameworks,including those related to health products and regulated goods.
- Contribute to cross-functional collaboration, reporting, and knowledge-sharing to strengthen organizational capacity and ensureeffective humanitarian assistance.
What we are looking for :
- Qualifications include a minimum of 4-5 years' experience and a 1-2 year post-secondary certification/diploma in logistics,
supply chain management, business administration, international development, or a related field and/or an equivalent
combination of education and experience. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint and databases.
- Experience with procurement, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
- Experience working with inventory systems, transportation providers, and warehouse operations.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles, logistics planning, inventory control, and transportation coordination.
- Knowledge of regulatory and safety compliance related to logistics and procurement.
- Ability to project manage such as, planning, organizing, and coordinating project activities, setting goals, managing timelines,and allocating resources effectively.
- Experience in managing client relationships by understanding client needs, addressing concerns, and ensuring overall client
satisfaction. - Ability to identify opportunities for process creation and/or improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in service
delivery. - Ability to identify, investigate and analyze problems, identify root causes and risks, and apply technical, functional and
organizational knowledge to develop solutions. - Communication skills, diplomacy and empathy to interpret information and deliver advice, clarify client or stakeholder needs,offer solutions, and resolve escalations in new or somewhat sensitive situations.
