Purpose

The Associate Digital Asset Manager is responsible for maintaining and optimizing the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system to ensure efficient storage, organization, and retrieval of creative assets. This role oversees metadata tagging, version control, and governance of asset workflows, while owning stock image purchasing and contract negotiations with stock houses. Acting as the central point of control for digital assets, the Digital Asset Manager ensures brand consistency, compliance, and operational excellence across all marketing channels.

This position holds accountability for the following:

  • DAM System Management: Maintain and optimize the DAM platform, ensuring assets are properly stored, categorized, and accessible to internal teams.
  • Metadata & Version Control: Implement and enforce metadata standards and versioning protocols to ensure accuracy and traceability of assets.
  • Asset Organization & Governance: Establish and maintain asset taxonomy, naming conventions, and governance frameworks to support scalability and compliance.
  • Stock & Licensing Management: Own stock image purchasing and negotiate contracts with stock houses and vendors to ensure legal compliance and cost efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor asset integrity and ensure all files meet technical specifications and brand standards.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve asset workflows, leveraging automation and best practices for efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Partner with creative, marketing, and technology teams to support asset needs for campaigns and projects.
  • Training & Support: Provide guidance and training to internal teams on DAM usage, asset standards, and best practices.
  • Risk & Compliance: Ensure adherence to copyright laws, licensing terms, and organizational risk policies.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • 5+ years of experience in digital asset management or related field.
  • Strong understanding of DAM platforms, metadata standards, and asset workflows.
  • Experience managing licensing agreements and negotiating vendor contracts.
  • Familiarity with creative production processes and brand governance.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and DAM software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Post-secondary education in Digital Media, Marketing, Library Science, or related field.
Working Conditions
  • Standard office environment; occasional non-standard hours to meet project deadlines.
