The Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the IT Manager leads operational IT execution and provides leadership to the IT team while playing a key role in advancing ADL's digital systems across the organization.
This role supports the plant's day-to-day system performance while working closely with plant and business leadership to strengthen data integrity and modernize how information moves across the organization.
This role is responsible for designing and implementing structured digital solutions that improve workflows, enhance system integration, and apply automation, analytics, and AI-enabled tools where they deliver measurable operational value. It is a hands-on leadership position requiring technical depth, practical judgment, and the ability to align teams around sustainable process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
Operational IT Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day IT operations to ensure plant systems remain stable, secure, and responsive to operational needs.
- Maintain and improve plant infrastructure, including networks, servers, endpoints, printers, scanners, and site hardware.
- Troubleshoot issues in real time using a structured, root-cause approach
- Proactively manage uptime through monitoring, maintenance planning, and incident response
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to implement sustainable technical solutions
- Oversee IT asset lifecycle planning and maintain clear documentation of site configurations
Systems Integration & Digital Advancement
- Collaborate with plant leadership to identify inefficiencies and translate them into technology-enabled improvements
- Improve system reliability, real-time data capture, and reporting visibility
- Support system integration to reduce manual processes and improve accuracy
- Identify opportunities to leverage automation tools to enhance production reporting, inventory movement visibility, predictive maintenance insights, operational dashboards and analytics, and other data-driven operational improvements
- Evaluate emerging AI capabilities through a practical lens
Team Leadership & Service Delivery
- Provide leadership to two IT Administrators through planning, coaching, prioritization, and accountability
- Establish clear service standards, response expectations, and escalation processes
- Build and maintain structured documentation and knowledge-sharing practices to reduce single-point dependency
- Support adoption of new systems and digital processes and foster a mindset of continuous improvement, innovation, and responsible experimentation
Security, Governance, & Responsible AI Use
- Strengthen cybersecurity practices and plant-level system controls
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and compliance requirements
- Maintain strong standards for user access, backups, and system resiliency
- Ensure automation initiatives and AI tools are implemented securely and with appropriate oversight
Drive Continuous Improvement & Smart Manufacturing Enablement
- Promote reliability, standardization, and measurable performance improvements across plant systems
- Introduce practical analytics and AI-enabled insights that strengthen operational decision-making
- Contribute to scalable system design that supports long-term operational growth
Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive, hands-on IT experience in infrastructure and operational environments
- Experience supporting uptime-critical operations (manufacturing, industrial, or distribution environments strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated experience implementing automation, systems integrations, analytics platforms, or applied AI-enabled tools
- Ability to assess automation and AI opportunities pragmatically and translate them into measurable operational value
- Strong practical knowledge of infrastructure, including networks, servers, endpoints, and site hardware (e.g., scanners, printers, terminals)
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues using a structured, root-cause approach
- Experience leading and developing IT team members
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with operational leaders in a hands-on, on-site environment
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $98,000 to $110,000, commensurate with experience and demonstrated capability in operational IT leadership and digital systems implementation.
