Our firm has an immediate opening for a Billing Assistant in our Saint John office. This position is permanent full-time.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitoring WIP and Trust balances in relation to WIP;
- Sending WIP reports and pulling prebills based on WIP reports;
- Verifying the billing rules for each client;
- Updating client contact information;
- Sending prebills to lawyers for approval;
- Preparing edits on prebills and sending approved prebills for processing;
- Saving final bills to NetDocs and sending to client; and
- Other duties as required.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent technical skills and exceptional attention to detail;
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and to work with minimal supervision;
- Skilled in the use of Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel;
- Flexible and reliable, works well both independently as well as in a team environment;
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines;
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written; and
- Prior legal assistant experience in billing along with familiarity with legal systems and products considered an asset.
