Department: Department of Health - Ambulance and Transport Services
Placement Description:
The Policy and Program Analyst Student will support the Ambulance and Transport Services branch in advancing policy development and program improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Assisting in the development and review of branch policies
- Meeting with key staff and partners to understand operational needs
- Analyzing data and producing reports to inform decision-making
- Supporting program evaluation and process improvements
- Reorganizing and enhancing the branch SharePoint site
- Participating in team meetings and providing on-site support as needed
This placement offers hands-on experience in public policy development, program analysis, and operational improvement within a health services environment. Students will engage in work that requires critical thinking, sound judgment, and initiative, including identifying appropriate approaches to complex issues that may not have predetermined solutions. This role offers an opportunity for skills development with career-focused trainings, self-development workshops, and personalized mentorship.
Need to have:
- Language requirement: English
- Currently enrolled in a program related to Business, Policy, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Health, or Administration
- Fluency with Microsoft Office applications
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Strong written communication skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
Nice to have:
- Experience with SharePoint
- Experience conducting research or data analysis
- Interest in health policy, public administration, or program evaluation
- Experience engaging with stakeholders or supporting collaborative projects
