The Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries is seeking an individual to join the Industry Financial Programs Branch as an Agricultural Insurance Coordinator, in Wicklow.
Reporting to the Provincial Agricultural Insurance Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all activities relating directly to the operation of the insurance programs offered by the New Brunswick Agricultural Insurance Commission and for ensuring that the terms and conditions of the contracts are followed. Responsibilities include: client services; compliance inspections; crop loss investigation; adjusting services; claim settlements; supervision of field agents and casual staff, including developing work plans, supporting developmental opportunities, managing performance, establishing priorities and succession planning; and other related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Agrologist 1: A Bachelor of Science degree with specialization in Agriculture or a closely related field.
Agrologist 2: A Bachelor of Science degree with specialization in Agriculture or a closely related field and a minimum of five (5) years of related work experience in crop production; OR, a Master's in Science with specialization in Agriculture or a closely related field and a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience in crop production. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
NOTE: Recent university graduates and students graduating in 2026 with a Bachelor of Science degree with specialization in Agriculture or a closely related field, are eligible to apply.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability on your application.
The successful candidate must be eligible for membership in the New Brunswick Institute of Agrologists and membership must be attained within six (6) months of appointment.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate experience working in the agriculture industry. Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

- Knowledge of applicable legislation and the Department's policies and procedures;
- Planning and organizing skills.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be prepared to: travel within the regional area as required; perform physically demanding tasks including climbing grain and potato storage facilities and lifting 20-kilogram packages. Possession of a Class 5 driver licence as issued by the Province of New Brunswick is required.
SALARY:
Agrologist 1: $59,618.26 to $75,899.98 per annum
Agrologist 2: $66,824.42 to $85,074.34 per annum
