The Senior Test Analyst plays a pivotal role in validating the functional behavior of both external?facing and digital applications, ensuring strict alignment with design specifications and maintaining data integrity across all delivery streams. In this position, you will leverage strong communication skills and deep technical expertise to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

You will help elevate the team's testing maturity by advancing agile testing practices and contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of reusable test suites and test cases. The ideal candidate possesses a strong passion for test automation while remaining highly proficient in manual testing, ensuring a balanced, comprehensive approach to quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross?functional team members to understand the solution scope, vision, and requirements for assigned projects.
  • Identify, document, and refine test cases to ensure comprehensive test coverage across functional and non?functional areas.
  • Determine and coordinate the creation of required test data to support test execution activities.
  • Evaluate and recommend candidates for test automation, supporting the design and implementation of automated solutions.
  • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts to validate system functionality, performance, and stability.
  • Log, track, and support resolution of system defects, actively participating in defect triage discussions and prioritization.
  • Perform exploratory, ad?hoc, and scripted testing to uncover defects, validate usability, and ensure end?to?end quality.
  • Conduct initial troubleshooting and root?cause analysis of defects to support data quality and technical investigation.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for testing practices, solution features, and functional domains across assigned projects.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with peers and other IT stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth delivery.
  • Consistently deliver high?quality solutions with a strong focus on thorough test coverage and adherence to quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma or University degree in Information Technology or business administration or an equivalent combination of education and applicable experience
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing test cases and executing comprehensive software testing activities.

Technical Skills:

  • UI and API Automation: Over 3+ years' hands?on experience with UI and REST API automation frameworks and tools, including Postman, Newman, WebdriverIO, and Selenium.
  • Programming Languages: Proficient in JavaScript and TypeScript for test automation and framework development, with additional hands?on experience using SQL for data validation and analysis.
  • AI?Enhanced Development: Familiarity with AI?assisted development tools such as Copilot to streamline coding and enhance productivity.
  • Version Control & CI/CD: Strong working knowledge of GitLab, including CI/CD pipeline configuration using YAML and Shell scripting.
  • Agile Delivery: Practical experience applying Scrum and Agile methodologies, adhering to industry best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Quality & Defect Management: Proficient with JIRA for defect tracking, ALM for test case management, and SQL for validation and data querying activities.

  • Valuable Additional Experience : Development experience and exposure to mobile application testing are considered strong assets.

Language Skills: Competence in English is essential. Bilingualism is considered an asset.

Security Clearance Requirement: In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B). This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.

Pay Range:
73,465 - 82,648 CAD

The Base Pay range may vary depending on the successful candidate or other relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and education/training. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Medavie employees may participate in various performance-based incentive programs. Payments under these programs are discretionary and subject to both individual and organizational results.
