Definition of work: The Cardiology Technician is responsible for performing non-invasive procedures in cardiology. The successful candidate will prepare patients for 12 and 15 lead electrocardiogram (ECGs) , provide information about the procedure, and perform the test; prepare patients for 24/48 hour Holter Monitor device (ambulatory records), provide information about the test, connects patients to the monitor, and upon return disconnects the patient; may prepare patients for Exercise Tolerance Testing (ETT), explains information about the procedure, and monitors patients before, during, and after the testing; and other related duties as required. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centred care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.
Required qualifications:
??? Graduation from High School with a diploma recognized by the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
??? Completion of a Cardiology Technician program or completion of a 2-3 year cardiology technologist program but not yet registered or one (1) year health related diploma approved by Central Health.
??? One (1) year recent experience in the clinical health field.
??? Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
??? Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.

??? A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
??? A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
