Bell Business Markets is seeking a Senior Consultant, Public Sector Strategy to support the National Director, Public Sector Strategy & Deal Management. This role sits within the B2B organization and the public sector vertical, operating at the intersection of strategy, planning, governance, and execution.
The role is designed for a highly capable, self-directed professional who thrives in complex, ambiguous, and fast-moving enterprise environments. The Senior Consultant will act as a strategic extension of the National Director, enabling focus and momentum across priority initiatives, senior executive engagements, and cross-functional programs.
This role operates in a context that includes rapidly evolving priorities, including Bell's work with public-sector clients on next-generation digital infrastructure and sovereign capabilities. While not the owner of these strategies, the role provides critical strategic, organizational, and execution support across multiple stakeholders.
The scope of this role will evolve as priorities shift, requiring comfort operating without predefined mandates.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy, Planning & Execution Support
- Support the development, articulation, and refinement of strategy narratives, plans, and priority initiatives within the public sector portfolio.
- Prepare high-quality presentations, executive summaries, briefing materials, and decision documents for senior leaders (SVPs, EVPs).
- Track strategic initiatives, actions, and dependencies across multiple workstreams, ensuring follow-through, visibility, and momentum.
- Identify emerging themes, risks, interdependencies, and roadblocks, escalating insights and recommendations as appropriate.
Governance, Cadence & Program Enablement
- Design and maintain lightweight governance structures, operating rhythms, and management cadences that support accountability and progress.
- Coordinate, plan, and enable priority meetings, executive touchpoints, and key internal and external engagements.
- Capture meeting outcomes, document decisions and actions, and ensure disciplined follow-up.
- Support process design and workflow definition to improve clarity, efficiency, and execution across complex initiatives.
Executive & Stakeholder Support
- Support work involving highly confidential and politically nuanced situations with senior leaders and external government stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted partner to senior leaders by managing information flow, synthesizing complex inputs, and enabling informed decision-making.
- Engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders (sales, product, technology, legal, external partners), exercising strong judgment and professionalism.
- 5+ years of experience in a large enterprise environment supporting complex, cross-functional transformation or strategy initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience operating in ambiguity, with the ability to determine next steps when direction is incomplete or evolving.
- Exceptional organizational, coordination, and execution skills, with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Strong critical thinking, structured problem-solving, and analytical reasoning abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex and technical information into clear, executive-ready materials.
- High degree of professionalism, discretion, and judgment when handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong learning agility and intellectual curiosity.
- While not a technical role, the position requires the ability to quickly digest sufficient technical context as it relates to strategy and executive decision-making.
- A Government of Canada PSPC security clearance at level SECRET (Level II) is required.
The ideal candidate is pragmatic, composed, and credible, with a strong execution orientation and high tolerance for ambiguity. They are comfortable working behind the scenes to enable leaders and teams, and they bring calm structure to complex, fast-paced environments. They are equally effective thinking strategically and rolling up their sleeves to get things done.
In the first 12–18 months, success in this role will be reflected by:
- Increased strategic and execution capacity for the National Director
- Clear operating cadence, governance, and management systems in place
- Higher quality, more consistent executive-ready outputs
