WorkSafeNB is seeking to fill a two-year term contract position of Planning Business Partner. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Planning and Operational Performance, you will work with the divisions to provide advice and planning expertise, creating alignment of all divisions toward deliberate and defined objectives and measures to ensure operational excellence and accountability, leading to the achievement of the strategic plan and modernization goals. The job works the enterprise to identify its priorities, work, and projects aligned with the Board's strategic plan and ELT's annual corporate plan; works with Divisions to develop capabilities to develop divisional, departmental, and individual work plans; and collaborates to identify and report performance against plans.

Salary And Hours Of Work:

• Hours of work are those required to perform the assigned tasks but shall not be less than 35 hours per week.
• Pay Scale: $82,971.90 to $97,614.00 annually.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning – support strategic planning with evidenced-based recommendations, research, and materials to enable informed decisions relative to strategy - vision, mission, values, goals, objectives, and KPIs.
  • Corporate Planning - provide planning expertise, advice, and support to WorkSafeNB's divisions to develop plans at the corporate, divisional, department, and individual levels to ensure alignment with the strategic plan goals and KPIs.
  • Project Planning and Prioritization - provide planning expertise and support to WorkSafeNB's divisions to identify and prioritize projects to create a culture of continuous improvement and innovation and to ensure projects at all levels are aligned with corporate priorities.
  • Operational Performance - participate in building, monitoring, and maturing the enterprise accountability framework and work with divisions to facilitate ongoing review and reporting of performance against plans.
  • Support Organizational Alignment and Change – as new strategic planning and operational performance methods and models are rolled out operationally throughout the organization, lead, guide, and support the assigned divisions and departments through the change.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree preferably in a business discipline.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years' experience working both across organizations and vertically from frontline to executive leadership.
  • Advanced knowledge in planning and administration.
  • At least two years' experience leading or facilitating strategic, operational, or business planning.
  • Knowledge and ability to build a wide variety of reports, plans, and tools.
  • Understanding of how strategic plans translate to operational objectives.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Organization

WorkSafeNB administers no-fault workplace accident and disability insurance for employers and their workers, funded solely through assessments on employers. All employers having three or more workers are obligated to obtain compensation coverage.

WorkSafeNB is committed to preventing workplace injuries and illness through education and enforcement of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

WorkSafeNB is administered by a board of directors consisting of the chairperson, a vice-chairperson, the president and CEO (non-voting member), the chairperson of the Appeals Tribunal (non-voting member), five members representing workers, and five members representing employers. Other than the president & CEO and the chairperson of the Appeals Tribunal, members of the board of directors serve part-time.

  • Provide sustainable insurance and insurance-related services to the employer community.
  • Represent stakeholders and provide recommendations and advice to government with respect to legislation, and publish such reports, studies, and recommendations WorkSafeNB considers advisable.

Assessments are affected by the level of activities in the province's workplaces, as are the resulting claims. There are also substantial assets that ensure WorkSafeNB will be able to provide the ongoing benefits promised to injured workers through a wage loss recovery insurance system. These funds are invested in the financial markets and investment returns are subject to the ups and downs of the marketplace.
