The Opportunity:
Manage inventory levels to ensure availability of stock. Liaise with internal/external customers as well as suppliers to understand the needs and to ensure products are acquired in a timely manner.
Key Deliverables:
- Negotiate with suppliers in a timely manner to obtain product with optimal price and quality.
- Resolve problems with suppliers relating to parts, shipping errors, pricing and invoicing etc.
- Facilitate product returns when required as a result of shipping or product issues.
- Provide direction or input into the creation and/or adjustment of inventory minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Follow up with internal customers to confirm parts information, gathering requirements if necessary to research product solution and complete order in a timely manner.
- Follow up with Material Coordinators, Stores personnel and Suppliers to facilitate resolution of critical operational situations, while ensuring costs are managed whenever possible.
- Follow up on critical orders with suppliers and internal customers.
- Use knowledge of best practices to manage purchasing related costs (i.e. shipping, terms of payment etc.)
- Provide monthly reporting on activities and achievement of savings targets.
- Assist with any identified departmental objectives or initiatives as required.
- Maintain a sound knowledge of the internal computer systems to manage/maintain/amend purchasing data, history and specific supplier information.
- Generate ad hoc reports, as necessary to analyze and understand purchasing trends and history.
- Constructively participate in annual Safety and Quality audits, survey, or investigations.
- Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of co-workers and customers.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education, Certification and Experience
- High school diploma is required.
- Aviation or Aerospace technical background or education is preferred.
- SCMP/PMAC (Supply Chain Management Professional /Purchasing Management Association of Canada) accreditation, and/or other procurement training is an asset.
- Minimum 2 years of procurement or supply management experience is preferred.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and Power BI.
- Ability to understand and interpret department and corporate objectives.
- Knowledgeable in aircraft parts, purchasing, and repair activities.
- Ability to make decisions quickly and manage periods of high stress and high workload when handling critical situations in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast?paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Able to obtain product in a timely manner with optimal price and quality.
- Independently able to resolve problems with suppliers relating to parts, shipping errors, pricing and invoicing, etc.
Additional Qualifications
- Aviation related procurement experience is an asset.
- Working knowledge of aircraft OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) IPC (Illustrated Parts Catalogue) and (Component Maintenance Manual), Service Bulletins, and Ads (Airworthiness Directives) is an asset.
- Working knowledge of Trax Maintenance information system considered an asset.
