In this role, you will :

  • Gather data from various sources such as databases, surveys, and internal systems to ensure comprehensive and accurate data sets.
  • Collaborate and build relationships with clients/stakeholders to collect and document data requirements.
  • Generate reports and visualizations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Perform data analysis and apply analytical tools, statistical techniques, skills and processes to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, including identifying opportunities to automate data processes and improve quality and efficiency.
  • Carry out data activities based on documented standards and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and data governance frameworks.
  • Manage sensitive information in accordance with confidentiality and privacy standards, ensuring that data is handled securely at all stages.
  • Act as a data ambassador, promoting a data-driven culture across the organization.

What are we looking for :

  • Qualifications include a minimum of 4-7 years experience and a 3-year college diploma or university degree in data science, computer science or related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May require technical certifications or professional designations. (L5)
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Experience in data visualization techniques and software (e.g., Power BI or similar).
  • Knowledge of geospatial tools (ArcGIS and/or QGIS).
  • Ability to identify patterns and trends in data.
  • Ability to assess accuracy and reliability of data.
  • Familiarity with data management concepts, including data quality, data cleansing, standardization, metadata management, privacy, and security governance.
  • Proficiency in Excel (e.g., macros, VBA, functions, pivot tables, formulas and charts).
  • Communication skills, diplomacy and empathy to interpret information and deliver advice, clarify client or stakeholder needs, offer solutions, and resolve escalations in new or somewhat sensitive situations. (L3)
  • Ability to identify, investigate and analyze problems, identify root causes and risks, and apply technical, functional and organizational knowledge to develop solutions. (L4)
  • Ability to understand and ensure work is completed in compliance with applicable data and privacy policy and legislation.
  • Fluency in English is required, French is an asset
