Equity Analyst

Vestcor Inc. has a full-time position available for an Equity Analyst. Located in Fredericton, Vestcor is the largest investment manager in Atlantic Canada providing global investment management services to 11 different client groups representing approximately $23.1 billion in assets under management. We also provide administration services to 10 pension plans and five employee benefit plans.

The Equity Analyst reports to the Vice President, Equity and works with the Equity team, performing foundational research and analysis activities in support of the team's Portfolio Managers. The responsibilities of the position include updating and maintaining financial models; conducting portfolio analysis and research to support portfolio management; reviewing and interpreting cash flow statements, income statements, and balances sheets, and performing risk analysis and budgeting for active portfolios. This position will also mentor the Equity Associate.

The ideal candidate requires a post-secondary business degree with a strong understanding of the capital markets. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or a current standing as a CFA program candidate and knowledge of Bloomberg would be considered assets.

The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills, advanced Excel spreadsheet skills, strong computer applications skills, and fundamental research and data analytical skills. Written and spoken competence in English is required.
