General Overview:
TD is a leader in the Canadian credit card market with industry leading digital capabilities. TD consumer and business credit cards are distributed nationally, leveraging our retail distribution network, direct response channels and key co-brand partnerships. The Canadian Card Payments & Loyalty team is responsible for strategy, product development, customer lifecycle management, and financial performance of all Canadian credit card products.
As a member of the Canadian Credit Cards Partnerships and Loyalty team, you will be responsible for supporting the identification, development, and sales process enablement to assess new loyalty partnership business opportunities to drive customer value, market differentiation, and growth for TD.
Reporting to the AVP, Loyalty & Business Development, the Manager, Loyalty Partnerships Business Development will support loyalty partnerships business development including evaluating new loyalty or promotional partnership leads, prospecting, building merchant relationships, supporting the negotiation of key business terms for promotional partnerships, contracting, and collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure a successful partnership launch. Examples of existing Loyalty Partnerships include Starbucks, Expedia, Amazon and Uber, plus a number of promotional partners where these Loyalty Partnerships unlock everyday value and savings for TD customers. This role supports the delivery of the end-to-end business development lifecycle which includes:
Prospecting new merchants and key contacts at that merchant to help build a robust B2B sales pipeline that would resonate with TD's customer segments, enhance TD cards' value proposition, and deliver against TD's Loyalty Strategy.
Support initial discovery conversations to assess strategic fit for TD and Merchant, including potential partnership scope.
Collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders as part of the business development process such as: Legal, Finance, Product Management, Brand, Marketing, Technology, and other lines of business.
Support development of business cases to assess financial impacts of partnerships and influence across key stakeholder groups to gain alignment to business terms and program economics.
Develop compelling B2B Sales content and pitch decks to influence sales outcomes.
Develop and document sales procedures and best practice documents. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
Job Requirements:
Highly motivated self-starter who has demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity or white space to assess new opportunities and/ or create favorable business outcomes.
Prior experience in B2B sales, influencing without authority and/or Partnerships & Loyalty is required.
Strong financial acumen with ability to challenge P&L assumptions, levers, and outcomes to drive program outcomes within acceptable financial guardrails.
Strong commercial savviness, interpersonal skills and high degree of professionalism to interact, build relationships and influence internal and external partners as a representative of TD Bank.
Skillful communication (written and verbal) and partnership mindset to balance partner inputs but remain objective to reach favorable outcomes for the customer, partner, and shareholder.
Ability to contribute to a positive team culture, stay resilient under pressure, work collaboratively to solve problems and align stakeholders to a central vision.
Previous experience in developing and executing sales/ product strategies and delivering superior short and long-term results is an asset.
Ability to multi-task and to progress outcomes independently with an elevated level of quality and attention to detail.
Understanding and working knowledge of Canadian loyalty partnerships & credit card landscape an asset.
Education and Accreditation:
Undergraduate degree required. Graduate degree or CPA / CFA is an asset.
