Who you are

Reporting to the Regional Director of Electrodiagnostics and Respiratory Services, the Area Director is responsible for planning for, leading, overseeing and evaluating the delivery of Electrodiagnostics and Respiratory Therapy services in the area.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree and specialized training in a health-related discipline, preferably Electrodiagnostics or Respiratory Therapy.
  • At least five years of clinical experience in a health care facility.
  • Must be licensed or registered and a member in good standing of the respective provincial and /or national associations as determined by the profession.
  • Must have at least three years of supervisory experience in the health care sector.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Good work record.
  • Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level.

What you will do

The Saint John Area Director of Respiratory Services is responsible for:

  • Participating in the development of strategic plans for their services in the region
  • Leading the development of operational plans for their area and monitoring and evaluating their implementation
  • Directing, overseeing and evaluating provision of services
  • Liaison with the New Brunswick Heart Centre Program and responding to changes in requested service levels.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the quality and safety of the services in the area.
  • Managing the fiscal and human resources of the services
  • Assisting with the development of strategies to support professional recruitment and retention
