We are hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to lead, grow, and inspire high-performing engineering teams delivering mission-critical platforms in the automotive retail and commercial finance domain.
This is a people-first leadership role with deep technical accountability. You will be responsible not only for what we build, but how teams work, grow, and succeed. You will shape engineering culture, develop leaders, and ensure consistent execution while guiding teams through modern architectures, cloud platforms, and AI-enabled solutions.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

• Lead and manage multiple engineering teams, including senior engineers, tech leads, and potentially other engineering managers
• Build a culture of trust, inclusion, accountability, and continuous learning
• Coach engineers at all levels through: Regular 1:1s, career planning, and performance feedback; Technical and behavioral mentoring; Clear growth paths for ICs and future leaders
• Own hiring, onboarding, and team composition: Partner with Talent Acquisition to attract top engineering talent; Make strong hiring decisions aligned with long-term team health
• Drive performance management: Set clear expectations and goals; Conduct performance reviews and compensation input ; Proactively address performance issues with empathy and clarity
• Identify, develop, and retain next-generation technical and people leaders
• Ensure predictable, high-quality delivery across multiple initiatives and teams
• Balance delivery timelines, technical debt, and long-term platform health
• Remove organizational and technical blockers to keep teams focused and productive
• Establish and evolve engineering operating rhythms (planning, retrospectives, metrics)
• Provide hands-on technical leadership and guidance (without micromanaging)
• Drive system design and architectural consistency across: Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) ; API-first and event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Ensure adoption of cloud-native design principles, design patterns, and best practices
• Review and guide solutions involving: C, C#, Java, SQL and data modeling, Distributed and scalable systems
• Lead teams building and operating solutions on Azure and GCP
• Champion DevOps and platform engineering practices: CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code , Automated testing and observability
• Foster a strong ownership mindset around reliability, security, and compliance
• AI, Innovation & Developer Productivity
• Encourage responsible adoption of AI solutions and concepts across platforms
• Drive developer productivity through tools such as GitHub Copilot
• Partner with architecture and innovation teams to evaluate emerging technologies
• Act as a trusted technology partner to Product, Finance, Compliance, and Operations
• Translate automotive finance business needs into scalable technical solutions
• Communicate clearly with senior leadership on: Team health and capacity ; Delivery risks and trade-offs ; Technology investments and outcomes


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

• 10+ years of overall software engineering experience
• Experience delivering large-scale systems in regulated or financial domains
• Automotive finance, fintech, or financial services experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience(Master's degree preferred)

• Languages: C, C#, Java
• Cloud Platforms: Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Architecture: Service-Oriented Architecture, RESTful APIs , Event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Data: SQL and relational databases
• Engineering Practices: Cloud-native development ; Design patterns and clean architecture , DevOps and CI/CD
• AI & Tooling: GitHub Copilot , Foundational AI concepts and applied solutions
• Domain Experience: Automotive finance (retail and commercial lending/leasing)
• 5+ years of experience as a people manager leading senior engineers and/or engineering managers
• Demonstrated success in: Building and scaling teams ; Coaching high performers ; Managing performance with empathy and fairness
• Strong emotional intelligence and conflict-resolution skills
• Ability to lead through change and ambiguity
• Proven ability to balance people needs, technical quality, and business outcomes
