Duties: The incumbent will function as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team for the Orthopedic Central Intake and Assessment Clinic at Western Memorial Regional Hospital. The incumbent will be responsible for providing assessment, education, consultation, and therapeutic interventions to the clients and families of the Orthopedic Intake and Assessment Clinic. The focus of the registered nurse is assessing medical risk factors for clients through detailed health assessment process, assisting them in establishing therapeutic goals and developing and implementing intervention plans on an individual basis. The registered nurse will also liaise with referral sources and community service providers as deemed appropriate.
Qualifications: A minimum of one (1) years of experience in acute care is preferred, ideally within Orthopedic Services. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to function with a high degree of independence. Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador is also required.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
