The Vehicle Management Agency's mission is to provide fleet management and vehicle maintenance services to Government, on an economical basis and according to established standards, to enable clients to deliver quality services to the public.
What you will do
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Repair Facilities, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- inspections and quality control;
- human resources management;
- long-range planning to support the efficient and safe operation of the district vehicle repair shops;
- participating in the operation and utilization of a fully integrated fleet management system;
- performing related administrative duties as required;
- ensuring that all departmental policies and procedures, as well as Federal and Provincial Acts and guidelines, are adhered to.
Work environment:
- Office location: Miramichi
- Work holidays, weekends, shift and/or variable hours.
- May work in adverse road and weather conditions.

- Some travel within the province will be required.

Essential Qualifications:
- High school graduation or GED supplemented by completion of post-secondary course work in a related mechanical or technical field.
- Minimum of six (6) years related work experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following assets:
- financial management experience including managing budgets;
- experience in managing shop operations.
Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

SALARY:
Automotive Shop Superintendent: $35.48 per hour, based on a 40- hour week.
An additional 4.8% differential will be paid to Automotive Shop Superintendents supervising Mechanic Supervisors.
