SUMMARY

Codiac Crane Ltd. is a locally owned and operated mobile crane company currently seeking a driver/operator for our growing organization. Our team is made up of a dedicated and hardworking staff who create a rewarding and welcoming work environment. MONCTON NB is currently seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual for the position of Boom Truck/Mobile Crane Operator. This individual must have a provincial or interprovincial crane/apprentice license. Knowledge of local region preferable.

KEY TASKS

  • The Boom Truck Operator transports products to job sites and places these materials in requested work locations
  • Operate mobile cranes to lift, position, or place equipment and materials
  • Transport loads in a professional manner following the rules of the road and representing the company to the highest standards
  • Perform pre-trip circle-checks and complete logbook entries
  • Ensure proper vehicle and boom/mobile crane maintenance and servicing
  • Verify load security and accuracy
  • Deliver materials to the satisfaction of customers and maintain an emphasis on safety, service, and efficiency
  • Safe operation of the boom/mobile crane while loading and unloading
  • Communicate with customers and other trades on construction sites
  • Maintain contact with dispatch and work to resolve issues as they arise
  • Prepare trucks for reloading
  • Clean and lubricate cranes
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Perform pre-operational inspection and calculate crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting
  • Act as an ambassador for the company with all employees and customers
  • Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by management

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Canadian Class 1 driver's license minimum with air brake endorsement with five years' commercial driving experience
  • Provincial/interprovincial crane license
  • Mobile crane certification/apprentice
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics
  • Basic hand tool skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Sitting and driving for long periods of time
  • Frequently climbing up and down ladder
  • Pulling, pushing, bending, and torso twisting movements to transfer building materials between truck and job site

TYPES OF CRANES

  • Hydraulic, telescoping boom, and knuckle boom cranes

COMPENSATION

Wages will be based on experience level

EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALIZATION

  • 5 years clean Canadian driver's license abstract
  • Driver's validity license check
  • Have personal vehicle
  • Willing to travel

CREDENTIALS

  • Boom truck crane operator trade certification/apprentice
  • Mobile crane operator trade certification/apprentice
  • Mobile crane operator red seal certificate (would be a bonus but not a necessity)
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
