Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Lead, the Consumer Leisure Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in promoting Fredericton and the Capital Region as a premier tourism destination. Under the strategic direction of the Senior Marketing Lead, this role is responsible for executing on consumer-facing marketing initiatives, brand development and execution, seasonal campaigns, tourism activations, and partnership development. The incumbent will work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance visitor engagement, drive tourism growth, and ensure brand consistency across all platforms.

This role requires a strategic thinker with strong creative direction skills, marketing expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Occasional travel, irregular hours, and overtime may be required.

What You'll Do:

Brand & Marketing Execution

  • Support the development of consumer and leisure marketing strategies aligned with the Fredericton Capital Region Tourism brand.
  • Lead the implementation and evaluation of brand activations, festivals, sponsorships, and promotional and programming initiatives, under the guidance of the Senior Marketing Lead.
  • Provide creative and art direction for marketing materials, including print, photography, and digital content.
  • Ensure brand standards and messaging consistency across all media platforms, in alignment with strategic direction.

Literature

  • Lead the conceptualization, production, distribution, inventory and performance review of all printed materials, including visitor guides, maps, and promotional literature.

Programs, Campaigns & Activations

This role will also lead the end-to-end management of tourism promotions and programs, campaigns, and activations, including:

  • Lead the conceptualization, planning, execution, and evaluation of promotional and program campaigns and attendance-building initiatives at consumer shows, tourism marketplaces, and regional events.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including hotels, attractions, festivals, and tourism partners to develop and implement integrated campaign marketing programs.

Content & Asset Management

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive image and video asset library to support marketing efforts.
  • Ensure all assets align with brand standards and support storytelling objectives.
  • Support the development and editing of written content for Fredericton Capital Region Tourism.

Partnerships & Industry Engagement

  • Cultivate relationships with tourism operators, community organizations, and regional partners.
  • Provide strategic brand support to communities across the region to enhance tourism visibility.

Research & Strategy

  • Conduct market research and analyze tourism trends to inform marketing strategies and campaign development.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support tourism product development and visitor experience enhancements.

Retail & Swag

  • Lead the development and execution of retail store activations.
  • Oversee the creation, inventory, and management of branded swag and promotional merchandise.

General Duties

  • Support other Tourism Division programs and services as required.
  • Lead or contribute to the exploration of emerging marketing trends, platforms, and innovative executions.
  • Support the ongoing evolution of the Tourism Division's mandate, including destination marketing and product development.
  • Manage and maintain marketing budgets, including proper coding, tracking of expenditures, and ensuring alignment with financial procedures and reporting requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

  • Post-secondary education in tourism, business administration, marketing/communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in tourism, marketing, sales, or promotions. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Nice to have:

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to apply core marketing principles to support organizational goals. Experience in tourism is considered an asset but not required.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience in event planning and execution is an asset.
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
