Job Details:
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Water & Sewer - Engineering and Operations Department, the incumbent will perform work which is physically strenuous in nature and involves the use of hand tools and/or manually operated equipment. Assignments will require the operation of Municipal vehicles. The incumbent may work under supervision and receive daily instruction.
Qualifications Required:
- Secondary education (Grade 12 G.E.D. is acceptable).
- E endorsement (Air Brake) would be considered an asset.
- WHMIS, confined space, and first aid certification.
- Previous municipal or water and sewer related trade experience.
- Valid NB Class 5 driver's license **You must attach a copy of a valid driver's license and a current copy of your driver's abstract in your application.
- Holding a valid NB Class 3 driver's license is considered an asset.
What You'll Do:
- Part of the team responsible for operating and maintaining drinking water and sanitary sewer systems.
- Working around drinking water and sanitary sewer facilities and equipment.
- Working around heavy equipment, interacting with the public, working in traffic.
- Working in outdoor conditions performing physically strenuous work.
- Performs related work as required.
- Ability to work after hours and willingness to work shifts as required.
