Site Overview: Rose City Plaza is a premier shopping destination. Security personnel play a key role in ensuring safety, providing customer assistance, monitoring activities, and responding to incidents to uphold a positive and safe shopping experience.

Position: Full-Time Security Guard

Site: Rose City Plaza

Hours: Continental Days (0930 - 2200hrs)

Payrate: $20.00/hr.

Averaging Agreement: Overtime is AA after 88 hrs

Job Description:

  • Deliver consistent, high-quality customer service by assisting clients, tenants, and visitors.
  • Act as a visible deterrent to crime and maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
  • Enforce property standards, rules, and regulations in a fair and professional manner.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the property (on foot or by vehicle).
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies and incidents.
  • Provide first aid, CPR, or AED support until medical professionals arrive.
  • Monitor and operate CCTV and other security systems.
  • Maintain and enforce access control procedures.
  • Handle trespassers and unauthorized persons under the Trespass to Property Act.
  • De-escalate emergency or crisis situations calmly and safely.
  • Maintain detailed memo books and prepare accurate incident and occurrence reports.
  • Assist with Fire & Life Safety inspections and other safety initiatives.
  • Participate in crowd, line, and access management as needed.
  • Investigate incidents, occurrences, and rule violations.
  • Use tact, diplomacy, and sound judgment when dealing with the public.
  • Ensure compliance with all emergency and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of prior security experience.
  • Must possess a valid Ontario Security Guard License.
  • Must have Valid First Aid & CPR Level C (WSIB approved).
  • Legally authorized to work full-time in Canada.
  • Able and willing to stand, walk, and patrol (on foot or by vehicle) for extended periods.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills & decision making skills
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Comfortable working in fast paced environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, able to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability.
