Reporting to the Manager, Marketing, Donor Communications & Stewardship, the Graphic Design Officer plays a key role in advancing United Way Maritime's mission by creating engaging, accessible, and brand-aligned visual materials. This role supports fundraising campaigns, community impact initiatives, local and regional events, digital and print communications, and donor engagement through strong, thoughtful design that tells powerful stories and drives impact.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Multichannel Design: Execute high-quality visual assets for digital, social, print, and fundraising campaigns, managing the process from concept to final production.
- Brand & Systems Management: Uphold and evolve brand standards through the creation of templates and design systems to ensure organizational consistency.
- Planned Collaboration: Partner with internal teams and external vendors to translate complex objectives into creative, impactful visual solutions.
- Inclusive Design: Integrate accessibility (AODA/WCAG standards) and equity, diversity, inclusion and accessible values into all creative work to represent diverse and vulnerable communities authentically.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate and manage multiple workflows and deadlines simultaneously, incorporating constructive feedback to meet timely project goals.

Additional Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in graphic design or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in a graphic design role (nonprofit experience considered an asset).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop); familiarity with Canva or similar tools considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of layout, typography, colour theory, and visual hierarchy.
- Experience designing for both digital and print formats.
United Way Maritimes is committed to a comprehensive compensation package including salary, group retirement savings plan contribution, health and dental benefits, generous vacation time, additional time-off during the December holiday period, and professional development and training. The salary range for this position starts at $50,500 per year.
