Your main responsibilities

  • Undertaking logging of geotechnical drilling operations;
  • Assisting senior sta? with various tasks required for multi-disciplinary projects including collection, preparation and testing of samples;
  • Setting up, performing tests and logging results in the ?eld and laboratory;
  • Preparing factual reports, summaries, data sheets or graphs for interpretation of test results by the supervisor;
  • Undertaking geotechnical and construction quality control field testing and inspections (i.e. compaction, concrete, rebar, etc.) at various construction projects;
  • Consistently executing safe work practices and work plans while completing ?eld, laboratory and o?ce work;
  • Generating and assisting with preparation of deliverable documentation such as technical reports, summaries, data sheets, graphs, proposals and quali?cation packages;
  • Participating in project management, site and sta? planning meetings;
  • Handling di?cult situations with tact and diplomacy to maintain positive working relationships with all internal and external contacts.

What makes you unique

  • Technical Diploma in a field related to Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering;
  • More than 3 years of experience in highway materials, construction materials sampling and testing and inspection;
  • Valid driver's license and submission of driver's abstract;
  • Reliable transportation;
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout New Brunswick on an as-required basis;
  • Ability to handle samples up to 25kg of materials regularly;
  • Demonstrated interest and sensitivity towards occupational health and safety.
