The Blair Group of companies, located in Riverview NB is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic individual who thrives in a fast paced, dynamic and evolving environment in our office as Full Charge Bookkeeper.

Salary is to be discussed pending experience and abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Working directly with our Controller, the candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with:
  • Daily cash receipts balancing
  • General ledger reconciliations including bank accounts, credit cards and clearing accounts.
  • All aspects of Accounts Receivable and Payable as well as reconciliations of the same.
  • Preparation of HST, Source deductions, WHSCC remittances, as well as corporate tax interim remittances
  • Collections and monitoring of delinquent accounts
  • Payroll administration and reconciliations
  • Experience working with Intercompany transactions
  • Inventory set up and management

Required Experience:

  • The candidate must possess:
  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • Completion of a college program in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field or completion of two years (first level) of a recognized professional accounting program (e.g., Chartered Accounting, Certified General Accounting) or courses in accounting or bookkeeping combined with several years of experience as a financial or accounting clerk are required.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is a must.
  • Working knowledge of A/P, A/R, bank and general ledger reconciliation, as well as inventory management
  • The candidate must have strong skills in English for both written and oral communication
  • Must have great interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, in addition to excellent computer skills and the ability to adapt to new software systems if and when necessary.
  • Ability to work well independently, as well as within a team.
  • Ability to work within deadlines and under pressure.
  • Availability to work outside of normal working hours, when required.
  • Experience with a network server environment would be an asset.

Preferred Experience:

  • 5 or more years of experience as a bookkeeper (current years preferred)
  • 3 or more RECENT years of experience with SAGE 50 accounting program
  • Experience in inventory management.

This is a full time position, 42.5 hours weekly, Monday to Friday with benefits including casual dress, dental care and extended health care. The candidate must be available and open to working the occasional extra hours when necessary for completion of projects and reports.
