Role Overview

Midland Transport is seeking a Maintenance Reliability Engineer to support the continued performance and reliability of its fleet. Working closely with Maintenance Managers and Supervisors, this role focuses on preventative and proactive maintenance strategies, reliability analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, reduce downtime, and control costs.

This position plays a key role in analyzing equipment performance, supporting maintenance planning, and contributing to data-driven decision-making across the maintenance function.

Your Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Maintenance Managers and Supervisors to ensure preventative and proactive maintenance programs are effectively built into the Enrich Maintenance system
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis initiatives and ensure corrective actions are completed for downtime issues or equipment-related claims
  • Manage or contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at improving safety, reducing downtime, and minimizing cost and waste
  • Coordinate with maintenance leadership and equipment vendors to research and implement new mobile equipment specifications
  • Extract, analyze, and interpret data from multiple systems to develop reliability indicators using tools such as Excel and Power BI
  • Assist with scheduling equipment for preventative maintenance, repairs, breakdowns, and MVIs
  • Support the management of telematics systems, including the setup and tracking of key performance indicators

Qualifications

This role is ideal for an engineer with strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, practical maintenance experience, and a proven ability to analyze and interpret data to make actionable decisions. You will play a pivotal role in supporting a high-performing team and ensuring maintenance practices are proactive, predictive, and aligned with Midland's strategic goals.

Your Qualifications

  • University/Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) is preferred but not required
  • 3+ years of related experience; predictive maintenance, reliability engineering, or industrial equipment experience is highly desirable
  • Strong technical aptitude with mechanical systems and practical maintenance knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and act on data
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
  • Experience in the transportation industry is considered an asset
