Incentives & Remuneration:
Successful applicants may be eligible to receive the following:
- Urban provincial Incentive of $50,000.00 with a 2-year return of service.
- Rural provincial incentive of $100,000.00 with a 4-year return of service.
- Moving expense reimbursement is also available.
This is a Salaried position; remuneration is based on the New Brunswick Medical Pay Plan. Salary includes benefits such as pension, medical education leave (10 days), vacation, sick time, and personal time off. Overhead and office expenses are covered as part of the clinical office environment. Additional remuneration is available for on-call and teaching responsibilities.
Who you are
- You have a Medical Degree from a recognized medical school and postgraduate studies (residency and fellowship) in the field of Geriatrics.
- Candidates must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick.
- Preference will be given to those who hold or are eligible for certification in Geriatric Medicine with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
- Proficiency in English is required. Bilingual skills would be considered an asset.
What you will do
This full-time clinical geriatrician will be incorporated into a well-established Geriatric Medicine service. Our inpatient and outpatient services are well supported with administrative and nursing staff and access to SW/OT/PT services. This clinical geriatrician will be participating in outpatient clinics, and on a rotational basis with other geriatricians, will provide consultation service to our hospitals.
We are affiliated with Dalhousie Medicine and Sherbrooke University and our active teaching program sees many medical students and residents. The geriatrician will also contribute to academic and teaching components of our service with opportunities for collaborative research. This opportunity offers a wonderful lifestyle with excellent balance between inpatient and outpatient care in a well supported, team-based, community care setting.
A typical workweek will consist of 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday 0830 – 1630.
