Championing Student-Athlete Success and Elevating University Sport Across Atlantic Canada

AUS plays a pivotal role in promoting equity and inclusion, delivering exceptional championship events, and strengthening the visibility of university sport regionally and nationally.

Reporting to the Board, the CEO will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight, ensuring AUS fulfills its mission while advancing its reputation and sustainability. Working closely with a talented team and member institutions, the CEO will focus on:
- Elevating AUS's brand and visibility through innovative marketing and sponsorship growth
- Championing student-athlete welfare, mental health, and academic success
- Modernizing governance structures and fostering transparency and trust
- Driving forward-thinking strategies leveraging technology and data-driven decision-making
- Strengthening relationships across U SPORTS, government, sponsors, and community partners
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in sports management, preferably in university or collegiate athletics, combined with strong business and marketing acumen. They will have proven senior leadership experience with strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and financial management. A collaborative, authentic leadership style with exceptional relationship-building skills is essential, along with a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA). Skilled communication abilities, including public speaking and media engagement, are also required. Bilingualism in English and French is a preferred skill. A post-secondary degree is required; a Master's degree is considered an asset.
The successful candidate will be a principled, student-centric leader with the energy and vision to transform AUS for long-term success.
