The Role
Leads and oversees the Intraday Cash and Collateral Management team ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed/delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures and ensuring ongoing compliance with regulatory minimums.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Is accountable for payment & settlement balance management within CAD/USD/EUR/GBP environments.
- Responsible for cash forecasting for CAD, USD, EUR, GBP and other material currencies.
- Lead the development and implementation of global intraday liquidity strategies, including real-time monitoring, stress testing, and scenario analysis to mitigate risks from unexpected cash flows and market disruptions.
- Recommends management targets to ensure that there are sufficient cash and collateral to meet the requirements of the Group and its business units, both on an on-going basis but also under various stress scenarios on an intraday and end of day basis.
- Ensures liquidity is available during wide scale global payment disruptions. Oversees the build of Treasury specific contingency planning for intraday liquidity management
- Supports Bank teams in developing products and services for Correspondent Banking, Corporate, and Commercial clients by defining cash flows, calculating intraday liquidity costs, and managing optimal funding. Enables business partners to price deals effectively and facilitate successful settlements across systems and currencies.
- Account for and allocate these intraday costs to the appropriate business lines.
- Sets the operating liquidity strategies, cash management direction and makes recommendations to Executive Management for ratification as policies, counterparty trading limits, and related procedures for the Bank, its subs, special purpose companies and affiliates.
- Supports the Bank on technology initiatives and changing market conditions that impact intraday liquidity.
- Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Champion continuous improvement in processes, reducing operational risks and enhancing efficiency through data analytics and automation.
- Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank's risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates the Bank's risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.
- Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Undergraduate degree in Business/Accounting or STEM fields in combination of CFA/FRM/MBA
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in Finance, or Risk Management; preferably within a Bank or Financial Institution
- Strong understanding and ability to communicate with Information Technology (systems applications), Finance (financial systems), and Capital markets (products)
- Strong leadership
