MST (Atlantic) Shipping Management ULC is currently accepting resumes for the below position working offshore Atlantic Canada. This a contract position for 12 months with a 12-hour workday.

Vessel: Maran Thule
Position: Chief Cook - Available 2 positions
Annual Salary: $110,000
Rotation: Approximately four months on/off
Contract: March 1, 2026 - February 28, 2027

Position Summary
The Ship's Chief Cook must have the knowledge and competency required to provide ship's complement and visitors with healthy menu.

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

  • Proficiency in English required
  • 5+ years experience in rank
  • Ship's Cook Certification
  • STCW Basic Safety
  • STCW Ship Personnel with Designated Security Duties
  • Unlimited Medical Health Certificate
  • Knowledge of Dynamic Positioning Vessel operations
  • Valid Passport
  • Must pass Physical, Drug Screen, Alcohol Screening and Background /Pre-Employment Screening Checks.

Responsibilities:

  • Treat safety and environmental compliance as a top priority.
  • Report any unsafe acts or failure to comply with regulations and/or company procedures to the Master.
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed to provide a safe working environment and minimize the potential for pollution.
  • Supervising the work of the galley staff.
  • Keeping the galley and provision rooms clean and prepared for rough weather.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the galley daily.
  • Experience managing a budget and/or inventory and menu planning.
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Plan and prepare regular meals at the designated times.
  • Ensure cleanliness and a high standard of food safety and sanitation throughout the galley, storeroom and freezers.
  • Responsible for ordering catering supplies while remaining within budget.
  • Supervise the handling of stores received while ensuring a satisfactory standard is supplied.
  • Adhere to all company health and safety policies and work procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by Captain.
  • Demonstrate safety awareness
