MST (Atlantic) Shipping Management ULC is currently accepting resumes for the below position working offshore Atlantic Canada. This a contract position for 12 months with a 12-hour workday.

Vessel: Maran Thule
Position: 3rd Engineer - Available 2 positions
Annual Salary: $140,000
Rotation: Full-time Contract - Four Months Onboard
Contract: March 1, 2026 - February 1, 2027

Position Summary
The 3rd Engineer is responsible for the planning and supervision of preventive maintenance activities and repairs to the ship's machinery, equipment, and systems.

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

  • Proficiency in English required
  • 1+ years experience in rank
  • Bahamas Flag Engineer Class 4 Endorsement
  • Bahamas Flag Advanced Tanker Safety (Oil) Endorsement
  • STCW Basic Safety
  • STCW Survival craft other than a fast rescue craft
  • STCW Ship Personnel with Designated Security Duties
  • Unlimited Medical Health Certificate
  • Valid Passport
  • Must pass Physical, Drug Screen, Alcohol Screening and Background /Pre-Employment Screening Checks.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform watches as advised by the Chief Engineer
  • Responsible for the safe, efficient, and economical operation of all vessel machinery and equipment including maintaining Engine Room Watchkeeping duties
  • Be thoroughly familiar with all onboard firefighting and lifesaving equipment and installations.
  • Ensuring the condition and maintenance of machinery as per job description
  • Review and sign off the Engine Room Logbook
  • Maintain and update the Plan Maintenance System in accordance to company policies
  • Supervise and train the Oiler, Wiper, or other engine room personnel on watch keeping, operational, and maintenance duties
  • Allocated tasks as directed by the Chief Engineer
