Who we are
The Policy and Regulatory Services Branch plays a vital role in coordinating proposals within the Department of Finance and Treasury Board that require government approval. Our team directly influences departmental priorities and shapes initiatives impacting New Brunswickers. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to lead meaningful change and drive strategic direction.
What you will do
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM) of Corporate Services and Agency Relations, the Director of Policy and Regulatory Services will:
- Be responsible for overseeing research on policy and legislative issues;
- Draft, review and manage policy and legislative submissions to Executive Council and Cabinet Committees;
- Coordinate departmental activities related to the Legislative Assembly;
- Coordinate the annual legislative plan;
- Oversee the coordination of the government's information access and privacy policy on behalf of the department;
- Coordinate appointments to agencies, boards and commissions;
- Facilitate communication between FCNB and other arms of government to ensure consistency and compliance with government priorities;
- Develop, mentor and lead a team of policy professionals
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a strategic leader who provides evidence-based advice, demonstrates exceptional judgement, and adapts quickly to changing priorities. You should excel at building collaborative relationships across departments and with stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in public administration, political science, policy studies, business administration or related field
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience
- Bilingual (English and French) written and spoken competence
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who have:
- Knowledge of government operations including legislative affairs
- Experience working with senior officials

Salary: Pay Band 08 - $111,280 to $125,346 per annum
